The Suspensions project was controlled by a set of rules: objects are of wood, metal or glass, suspended from string or chord where the anchoring endpoints of the string must not be shown. The photographs are Still Life arrangements where the string defines the space, weight, and tension of the image. All of these photographs are illuminated by indirect winter light coming through the twelve foot bank of windows in the Brooklyn loft I was living in at the time. This project extends a similar series I did earlier in black and white.
